Nepal youth team have continued their winning streak with another five-wicket win over Malaysia in the second match of the ICC U-19 World Cup Qualifiers for Asia Region at Singapore Cricket Club in Padang on Tuesday, THT report. Nepal had won the toss and chose to bowl first. Malaysia started their innings with Muhammad Amir and Saifullah Malik but lost Amir for 0 after just playing 5 balls in Kishore Mahato’s ball, spelling a rough start for Malaysian team. With a sore need of stablity, Malaysia attempted to bring their batting line to the track with Saifullah Malik and Virandeep Singh. However, Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane denied this opportunity and kept on pressuring the Malaysian team with his leg spin, managing to haul both of their wickets. Lamichhane wrecked havoc in the opposition batting line with his impressive bowling spell of 8.5-1-17-5. Similarly, Pawan Sarraf and Sandeep Sunar took 3 and 1 wickets respectively, in a bid to limit Malaysian innings to just 58 runs in 25.5 overs. None of the Malaysian batsmen managed to post double digits in their accounts. Walking onto the field, Nepal had started its innings, chasing an seemingly easy target of 59 runs. However, it stumbled when Sandeep Sunar returned to the pavllion with just 6 runs in his account. He is struggling to find his form in the tournament. Aashif Sheikh attempted zooming past the target with his aggressive 23 runs in 20 balls including 5 fours, however, Nepal lost Aadil Khan and Dipendra Singh Airee with 5 and 4 runs respectively. Anil Shah came to the crease as the 6th order batsman was however, quickly sent back to the pavilion without opening his account by Hafizuddin. Despite weak batting line, Nepal Managed to achieve the target in just 9.5 overs registering a five-wicket win over Malaysia. In this win, Prinit Thapa Magar and Rohit Kumar were not out with their personal 18 and 4 runs respectively.
